When Does it End ?
Someone else has been murdered. I've been crying since late last night when I first heard about it through this morning.

It's the latest in what seems to be a spree of murders lately. But instead of speaking out against these murders, people (to what seems to be a large extent) have been eerily quiet. It's starting to scare the heck outta me.

The silence must end.

I have no idea how this can be done, I just know it must. I can handle crying, but I can't handle crying in silence. It's just stomach-wretchingly wrong.

I'm completely drained. And yet, I keep crying. I don't know what to say.

Yes I do. Here's a poem I wrote. It doesn't give any answers, but it does sorta say some of what I feel.

Mother

by Heather Brown

Mother
Did you feel me falling
Bleeding
Into the warm, dark ground?
Mother
can you hear me calling?
Babies
Keep on falling down.

Mother
Can you hear me crying
Gasping
As I die in pain?
Mother
Why do we keep on falling?
Tell me
I didn't die in vain.

According to the Houston Chronicle, we may have lost yet another trans perceived individual to the hand of violence and prejudice.

Houston police are looking at the death of Steve Dwayne Garcia as possibly being a hate crime, and are looking into the possibilty of it being a "gay-bashing" because, as reported, "the victim appeared to be wearing female clothing and had shoulder-length auburn hair."

Garcia's body was discovered about 5:45 a.m., on Saturday, February the 6th, 1999, and was shot once in the shoulder. Garcia was wearing black pants, a black shirt, a colored vest, women's jewelry and makeup.

"Because of the way he was dressed, there is a possibility it may be a gay-bashing, but we don't know that yet for sure," Said Houston homocide investigator Todd Miller.

I doubt I need to mention that this makes seven documented trans murders since August of last year, that my sleep-addled mind could recall and pull off the
